Gastroscopy

Gastric ulcers can cause a range of signs, from a grumpy temperament, performance loss to weight loss and recurrent colic. The only reliable way to diagnose them is via gastroscopy – our 3m long video endoscope is passed into the stomach whilst the horse is standing and sedated.

Your horse must be starved for 12 hours beforehand to allow the stomach to be empty enough, so all of the stomach is visible with the camera – this means no straw bedding or turnout.
